Oct 28, 2020

Let us all pray and fast today. The last 6 days are here before the election. The Corona virus has been a tough time for all. If you have never read the book, “Alexander and His Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” upon which he lamented saying, “I will move to Australia.” During this time of Corona virus, I sure have felt that way; “let’s all move to Australia!” 2020 had so much promise. Things were never better here in the USA! Hopes soared, wages soared to new heights, optimism was at an all time high. When we look back we forget how upbeat our nation was, and suddenly we were hit with a challenge that stopped all productivity. Businesses closed down. Schools, sports, and churches closed down. It is 10 months later and we are still under the virus. Pray for this season to end. Pray for us to learn what God wants us to learn during this time. Ask the important question, what is God doing? I believe He is motivating our nation to be more focused on their relationships. Neighborhoods, families, and a general goodwill to men has shrunk. One thing I know about God, He loves relationships. He Himself is a community of three in One. We are meant to build and deepen lasting friendships. Unfortunately we have become more divided than ever. It was bad in 2008, but relationships now have sunk to new lows. Freedom to speak is now full of censorship. Do we care about each other? This time of being closed down has revealed that we do not know how to be friendly or courteous. Love for our neighbor is needed. Compassion and empathy, mercy and reaching out with a helping hand. Let’s pray for Samaritan’s Purse (we just gave them a gift for $13,000. I am proud of you all!)  Let’s pray for more efforts to understand each other. May we find ways during this time to get involved. We can give blood, volunteer, donate, and pray for each other. It’s not too late. And there are many ways to be a positive influence. With people like you here at Faith, I know we can be a force for loving God and each other. In Jesus Name. Amen.
