We are using the acrostic P.R.A.Y. We started our praying with the right attitudes using; P- Praise, then R- Repentance, and the next is A- Assurance. When we have the attitude of Assurance, it is because we believe and are saying, “yes and amen” to God’s promises. 2 Corinthians 1:20 tells us; “For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us.” Paul urges us to ‘cash in’ on the promises made to us by God! We do this by our saying, “yes, it is true! Amen, it is ours by faith!” All that God has given to every child of God comes from His wealth of blessings in heavenly places. Ephesians 1:3; “Blessed be God who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places.” We are rich beyond belief! In money, health, prosperity? No, not necessarily, but rather in something much grander and more powerful! We are rich with Heavenly blessings- spiritual blessings… those which we receive from our relationship with Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:21-23 boldly declares, “So then, let no one boast in men. For all things belong to you, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or things present or things to come; all things belong to you, and you belong to Christ; and Christ belongs to God.” Don’t stop there!- Revelation 5:12 also reveals what is ours in Christ, “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing.” Power is given to Christ and to us! Jesus promised in Acts 1:8; “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” This word for power is the word in Greek, “dunamis”. It is the main word, the first word in Revelation 5 for what Jesus received…power! The rest of the gifts then, follow! Power is the primary gift that Jesus received and then gives to every believer. Prayer unleashes this spiritual power to us; through Christ, by which we pray in the Holy Spirit, to the Father. Our assurance is safely “locked in” to us each time we pray His promises. God responds to us with His answer, “Amen! So be it! Let it be done for my child!”
