Tomorrow is worship. Let us reflect on what we have prayed for this past week. We have joined the battle of prayer by putting on the different pieces of armor; the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of evangelism, and next is Ephesians 6:16 “in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” What is the shield of faith? It is an impenetrable and impossible to destroy barrier, made of the hardest material in the world, faith! It is confidence in God and His Promises! I trust in Him, therefore I obey whatever He teaches me to do, ie: “the obedience of faith.” Faith is the victory that overcomes the world. The “earth-dwellers” temptations are pleasure seeking, money seeking, power seeking, security seeking, along with the seeking of the approval of this world. When we raise up this shield of faith while in battle, the flaming arrows of our enemy fall flat. Satan tries again and again to frighten us in battle. He tries to scare us into running from our front line position. He sends arrow after arrow full of intimidating fire. But faith quenches his arrows’ power! We cover ourselves with the Promises of God! We remind ourselves of the Holy, Faithful, Truthful, and Reliable God, Who leads us victoriously into this war! By faith, we move mountains, resurrect dead lives, free the slaves, and defeat the Devil! Wow! Let us stand together, shield to shield, forming an invincible wall of faith! Let us trample over the enemies of grace and truth! Let us strengthen each other, joining your faith to my faith and then, together shouting the cry of “Freedom”! “Lord, we believe in You and in Your 7,474 promises! We will stand firm, in confidence, until the last beat of the war drums sound! In Jesus Name, Amen.”
