Tomorrow is our day of worship! Take a few minutes and think over the important subjects and issues that we have prayed about this past week. We have prayed for a nation who will offer life for babies both unborn and born, for the character quality of a candidate to matter more than any other focus, for democracy and freedom over socialism and deeper debt, for peace to come from obeying the authorities peacefully and not creating destruction and disaster, and, lastly, for righteous judges who will determine to bring justice to our land. Doesn’t this sound like the kind of country you want to live in? Doesn’t this description make you proud of your nation? Remember, our nation has been built by former generations of people just like us, people who loved their neighbors no matter what their race or education, they were people who wanted justice to prevail in the laws and decisions made from the lowest to the highest courts of the land! I am presently reading a book entitled, “Obedient Nations”. This author shares that a disciple and follower of Jesus will be someone who obeys God’s laws and prays God’s promises! This one life will multiply into two, then into four…etc. until they fill the nation with a holy attitude and a positive and encouraging demeanor. They will take the Good News of what Jesus has done for them and share it with all those around them! The former generations were not perfect, but they did seek to live lives that were honest and sincere. They never gave up! They persevered and believed that, through Jesus, THE BEST IS YET TO COME! Let’s pray for an election that creates such a nation. “O Lord, hear us and give us an election that opens doors of opportunity to spread Your Good News to our fellow man. In Jesus Name, Amen.”
