Today I want us to focus on the need we face regarding having judges who will hear and decide on cases from the foundation and belief in justice! Justice for the offenders and justice for the victims! Did you know that, in this upcoming election, 278 state appellate court judges are being voted on? 35 states are voting on State Supreme Court Judges, and 31 states are voting in intermediate appellate judges. This is important! These elected officials carry a lot of weight in how justice is being served and carried out. Daily we hear of injustices in our nation! The list of victims who need a just response to the crimes committed against them is growing. We need wise and holy judges. Let us pray for such men and women who will decide a fair sentence and also seek to defeat evil on our streets. Nothing is worse than bad judges who make bad decisions that have a bad outcome for us all! Injustice causes enthusiasm to drop and depression rises when this is how society is run. We feel helpless. This feeling then quickly develops into anger and can progress and fuel mob activity… as we have seen in recent days. The Supreme Court will go through changes in judges over the next four years…pray about these positions and who fills them. This affects the balance of liberalism vs conservativism. It is historically better to be more conservative in values than liberal. We have the freedom and the responsibility to pray about and then choose a direction that honors the Lord and brings justice for all! “O God, You are the Judge of all men and women. You are the great Judge who hates injustice and loves righteousness (obedience to God’s moral law). As we pledge “and justice for all” please make it as real on earth in America… as it is in heaven.” In Jesus Name, Amen.
