Today we are reminded that God wants us to pray for the people in our nation. People who are blind to their need. “Father forgive them, they do not know what they are doing.” There are still so many people who know little, or even nothing about God. Why would they worship Him if they have never heard the truth? Where are they to go to hear this life giving message? Paul exhorts that they need a spokesman, a person to tell another person. And how will these spokesmen know who they are, unless they are sent? My friend, God has sent you! Declare the gospel to every person (Mark 16:15). Heaven is real! Hell is real! Jesus’ death on the cross is real! His Resurrection is real! He, sitting on His Throne of Heaven… is real! All of these realities lead to our anticipation of His second coming! This event is also real! Pray what Isaiah prayed, “Lord, send me!” All who follow Jesus will become His fishermen. Let God form in you the heart and skills that will allow you to freely tell others how they can have the gift and knowledge of God. Dedicate yourself right now, “Lord, send ME!” Amen.
