Today is our day of fasting and praying. Yesterday I started our daily blog with the promise from Jesus (Matt 16:18-19, John 20:23) that we are empowered in prayer to loose others from their sins and they will be forgiven. John 16:7-11 Jesus taught that the Holy Spirit would be sent to convict people of three things, sin, righteousness, and judgment to come. Today lets pray that the Holy Spirit would free people from their sins after He works in their hearts and minds, convincing them that the sin in their lives will bind them to judgment. This convincing work of God’s Spirit is crucial. Our country needs this new sense of right and wrong. Our country needs to return to a sense of righteousness. God’s laws are not being obeyed or listened to, and our only hope is that the Holy Spirit frees us from the confusion and lack of awareness as to how serious our sins are to God. Once loosed the heart is again sensitive and aware that we are facing eternal consequences if we do not confess and forsake sin. One that awareness comes, then the person is looking for forgiveness, and will now see that Jesus alone can forgive and loose them from judgment. Open eyes, open hearts, and opened to God is a “loosed and free” person. But blind eyes, blind hearts, leaves the person bound to their sins. Pray for the Holy Spirit to convince bound and blind people of their true status before God. O God hear us! Amen!
