Jesus promised His church that He would build it and that nothing would be able to stop its victory, not even the gates of hell, death itself. He promised in Matt 16:18-19 that we were “given the keys to open and close doors on earth” for the expansion of Christ’s kingdom. He called it the “prayers of loosing and prayers of binding”. This was seen on the day of Pentecost when the doors to salvation were opened and 3000 stepped into His kingdom. Several times this happened in Acts. Jesus promised us in John 20:23 that we can, with His authority, promise others that their sins are forgiven. We can “loose men of their sins” because of the miracle power of the Cross and Resurrection. We are able to pray for others to be free from their sins and watch them find and discover that they truly have received God’s forgiveness? God has given us a great power in prayer! Let us pray for God to free our family members, our friends, co- workers, and all others in the circle of our lives to be freed from their sins! Let’s pray for them to turn to God in humble repentance! What sins will be loosed from them? Any sin they confess and forsake! Pray that they will be aware and conscious that until they acknowledge and repent, their sins are not forgiven and that means that they are still under God’s judgment. Amen!
