A great citizen will always be a law abiding citizen. Today reflect on what we have prayed for this week. In the church of Pergamos we saw that the people had stopped “pulling the weeds” (addressing sin) and we as citizens can be guilty of the same thing. We can cheat on our taxes. We can falsify a work report. We can turn a blind eye when we see someone treated unjustly. We can be a silent partner to theft. Pray that we may engage if we are ever witness to evil, abuse or cruelty. May the Lord make us someone who is willing to give a testimony to a crime, or an injury. May the Lord forgive us for not getting involved when it is within our power to act on behalf of someone in need. Let’s demonstrate acts of kindness whenever possible! Be the first voice of support to someone who needs us to stand up for them. Pray that the Lord will make us aware and merciful to all who are around us and let us be like Him in our day to day lives!
