Throughout this past week we have prayed to be a love and Spirit filled saints. Now let us pray to be a 10x better and brighter as a US citizen! What makes a US citizen 10x better and brighter? Applying the truths that we have learned about being a Christian from the churches in Rev 2-3. We pray to be someone who loves our country, rather than being like Ephesus who forgot her love. This does not mean that we agree with or condone the failures of our nation. But, we can apply 1 Per 4:8 to our patriotism…LOVE covers a multitude of sins! We can love our just laws! We can love our constitution! We can love our due process that allows democracy to flourish. Among men there is no finer form of government than democracy. As long as men are righteous and honest, democracy will work for the improvement of man. As our constitution begins “We the people” and if those same people are just and true, morally upright, then this nation will prosper and thrive. “Of the people, by the people, and for the people” will work. However, democracy has one very lethal weakness… that is, if we promote evil or sin (as we are now)… democracy can become our greatest reason for downfall! All who truly love America will pray for her to be forgiven and that God will heal our broken and destructive nation. Prayer is our first gift of all gifts to exercise! We pray that this nation will correct herself and be righteous and just again. We pray from a love filled heart that a renewal and revival will come to our nation! We truly are the greatest nation on the planet! Our accomplishments are amazing! But as great as our industries, economy, resources and educational institutions… greater than all these are the evil and sin of our past decades! Let our hearts be filled with deepest of loves and prayers for a Spiritual Reformation!
