Today is our day of prayer and fasting.  Read about the church of Laodicea in Rev 3:14-22. Pray for a spirit of hot and fiery love for God. What cools our intense love for God? Neglect! Anything that creates a neglect in our relationship with God and His Kingdom, destroys hot love. Pray for an awareness in your life of God’s presence. Remember to thank God, forgetting to thank God hurts your growth and maturity. Form a list of what you are thankful for. Start with His great compassion and willingness to forgive you for your many sins. What has God done to solve our sin problem? The answer to this question reveals the amazing extremes of His entire being, in that there is not one attribute of God that is not in full force and activity to forgive and free us from sin. Satan is the accuser of man and constantly condemns us. It is easy to see faults and point them out. But what does it take to forgive the person who has sinned? How does a God who knows all things, has all power, and has the ability to be everywhere at the same time, still put my sin far from His presence? He knows what sins I’ve committed. He knows everything related to every sin. It is a mystery why we’re even are allowed to live another day! Yet, He has promised to all who turn to Him and simply confess and ask to be forgiven, that they will receive forgiveness. His promise to us that our sin would be removed as far as the east is from the west, is based on the death of His Son on the cross. Jesus alone, in His death alone, has secured us a place of forgiveness for all eternity. How could we ever forget that? But we do. Communion is a time when we remember Jesus’ death for our sins. We are exhorted and encouraged to remember Him and what He willingly, freely, lovingly, eternally, and completely did for us.  He took all of the wrath of the offended Holy God and satisfied God’s full penalty required for the least and greatest sin. Every sin is included. Past, present, and future sins are all paid for… in full! Doesn’t that stir your heart and cause your love for Him to heat up in appreciation?  “MY sin oh the bliss of this glorious thought, my sin not in part but the whole, is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more, praise the Lord, praise the Lord oh my soul!” (It Is Well With My Soul)
