Read Revelation 2:12-17 Pergamos is the church that was full of weeds (sin). Will we pull the weeds from our life and rid ourselves of sins that are rooting deeper and deeper? Our culture offers pleasure, financial success, and public honor if we do things their way. We must pray for a holy heart and a holy life! Seek to stand true when Satan tempts you. Pray for an honorable walk with Christ. He wants to have a personal time with you, enjoying together a meal of the hidden manna. Earn a good name on a white stone! Flee youthful lusts. Cut away with the two edged sword, that sharp Sword of Truth, everything that seeks to deceive and promise you temporary pleasure. Cut away the hidden motives of pride or desires for man’s applause. Seek God’s approval! Pray for decisions that lead you away from sin and into a deeper relationship with Christ. You will then have a life that is functional, useful, and fruitful. Read 2 Tim 2:20-23.
2 Tim 2:20-23 In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. 21 Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work. Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.
