WEEK FOUR
Can one person pray for a whole nation and succeed? It depends on that person. Think of people who prayed for a whole nation, does anyone come to mind? Abraham prayed for a whole city, Sodom and Gomorrah would have been spared if there were 10 righteous people there, Moses prayed for Egypt to let Israel go free from bondage. They left Egypt freely. Moses prayed for Israel to enter the promised land, so did Joshua, and they did. Samuel prayed for the whole nation to get right with God, and they did. Now that we are thinking about it, several of the prophets, kings, and even priests prayed for God to work and to revive a nation, to bring comfort, and for many other needs of the nation. Jesus himself prayed for His Jewish nation, and even for the entire world. Psalm 2:8 tells you to pray for the nations, that God will give them to you. Read Matt 28:18-20. What should we pray for our nation? Remember, nothing is too hard or too big for God. Start today to pray for our nation.
Matt 28:18-20 “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
