Matt 5:8
Matt 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
Pray Matt 5:8, to be pure in heart. What does that mean? Pray for true and genuine motives. Why do you do what you do? Is it to seek a greater wisdom about God, others and yourself? Psalm 90:12 points out the quest for wisdom is central to our purpose in life. And so also our motive to search for the lost or those who need a relationship with God, see Luke 19:10 “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” We are pure in heart when these two drives are working together in your heart. Pure in heart is having an undivided heart, we seek to put Jesus first and His kingdom first. Pray that you will live like that. What is the promise to the pure in heart? That they will see God!!! Wow. See God? Where? In creation, in history, in events large and small, in the Bible, in your relationship with God and others. We will see and be aware of Him everywhere. Pray for God to open your eyes to what is all around you. See 2 Kings 6:15-17
2 Kings 6:15-17 When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked.
16 “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
