Does the present state of our economy get me down?

Sure it does!  I feel bad for the many that are out of work. I think of you who are looking for work and wondering how you are going to pay your bills this month. You have my deepest concern and support! I have been through a couple of recessions now, and remember when the nation had 17% interest rates for homes and credit cards were 28% and rising. Having lived through a few presidential administrations that lifted then dropped the economy, I will tell you that I am no different than anyone else when it comes to getting amped up about the bills. And this is as bad as I have ever seen it!I want to share with you my journey of worry and anxiety with the hope that it helps some of you who may be at your wits end and are as miserable as I was when it came to my money.

“Do not let it keep you awake!”
Those words were said to me by a fellow Christian and contractor after many nights of being awake because of the fear that we weren’t going to make it. I had to realize God really would provide for me…even when I was sleeping.

“There are more ways than one to approach this
This wise statement was shouted to me as we had to solve the myriad of problems on one of my job sites. Creativity and getting counsel is important during times like these! Read books, listen to advice, and learn more about your finances than you knew before. There are so many things you can do to decrease your monthly output when you can not increase your monthly input. Start there!

Don’t give up hope!”
Sometimes I would feel so alone and it would feel as though God didn’t know how stressful it was for me to get behind in my bills. Late fees, threats, pressure tactics from others, and damaged credit, etc…all of these amped me up! But I have since learned, that when I felt most alone He was most present! God DOES care and WILL provide for every need (every need!). He will come through for you, He promised! He will not fail you!

What kept me sane and still keeps me sane–more than anything else when everything else is crazy–is the REALITY that God loves me as much as He does His own Son.

He loves me more than any other person on this earth could love me.

His love is practical. His provision to us comes from His love for us. That means the amount, the way, and the timing with which He brings it to us all express His love!

So money can be one of God’s great tools for expressing His love to you. So I join you in the journey of waiting on Him and seeing His hand of love at work in my life and yours.

He will not fail us!
